A very nice Mauser .240 Apex stalking rifle made circa 1925 and originally mounted with an ALDIS Brothers - Birmingham 3x scope.
In 1954 a new 24" "Hikro" Vickers high quality steel barrel was fitted at the factory.
The 98' Mauser action has been given the usual H&H modifications at the bolt shroud and holed lever and the H&H quick detachable side mount bears also a S&B "Wetzlar" 1,5-6x42 R4 scope whereas the trigger has been changed for a Canjar single stage, certainly at the same time of the new barrel fitting.
All the parts are deep blue-black slow rust finished except the screws and garnish left color case hardened.
The 14” LOP stock, made of nice French walnut, is very classic with a slim red butt pad and a short forend, black horn capped.
The rifle is presented in its original canvas and leather case, with labels and accessories.
