Detective Special - RHPK
COLT
Handguns
Category : B
Caliber : .38 S&W
Second issue COLT snub-nose manufactured circa 1956 in Hartford, Connecticut.
The back of the grip is deeply stamped with the Royal Hong Kong Police* issue number "RHKP 6751" and the rear face of the cylinder bears the same number 6751 in two groups of two digits 67 and 51.
The gun is chambered for the .38 S&W cartridge, the official caliber of the RHPK who was originally equipped with British WEBLEY revolvers chambered for this cartridge.
The revolver bears a WEBLEY type lanyard ring that conforms to RHKP regulations.
The original checkered walnut grips retain their Colt medallion, the barrel is very good, the lock is tight and the action functions flawlessly.
This revolver, delivered with a nice black leather belt holster, was imported into Germany in 2002 as evidenced by the Munich proof house stamps.
This is an unusual collector's version of COLT Detective rarely encountered in continental Europe.
* The Royal Hong Kong Police Force (RHKPF) reverted to Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) name after the transfer of sovereignty of Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to People's Republic of China in 1997.
