Caliber : .244 H&H Magnum
This elegant "stalking rifle" is one of the rare original .244 H&H Belted Rimless Magnum rifles built in the 1960's on a deeply reworked Mauser 98' action.
The .244 H&H Magnum[1] was created in 1955 by David Lloyd and is considered the ultimate development of the 6mm/.243'' caliber, an extremely flat trajectory cartridge particularly lethal on medium sized game like Scottish deer.
Its 25'' "Hykro" steel barrel adopts a light profile and sports the London maker traditional iron sights with wide V two leaves rear sight and caterpillar bead under fold away protector. A spare front sight, numbered to the rifle, is present in the trapped cap ending the grip.
The Mauser 98' receiver is fitted with an H&H quickly detachable scope mount supporting a Nickel 4x36 Es on numbered rings welded to the scope steel body. This n° 4 reticle German scope benefits of an upper turret specifically calibrated to 250 and 400 yards.
The weapon has been established in the "detachable stock" variant that allows quick disassembly for easy transportation under a more compact size
The 14'' LOP stock, in beautiful French walnut, adopts a slightly modernized classic shape with a beaded cheekpiece highlighting an elegant Monte Carlo comb and a checkered wood butt while a black horn tip completes the forend.
Of course, the London proof marks and the 13, Bruton Street address are present as is the SAFE gold inlaid detail on the lowered safety flag.
With the exception of the color case hardened trapped grip cap, all the parts of the gun are rust blued and the rifle with its scope is presented in a beautiful full leather case with Holland label.
Indeed, we guarantee perfect accuracy and smooth performance.
That H&H .244 Magnum rifle weights 7lb 4oz and 8lb 6oz scoped.
