.416 Rigby Professional Hunter Dangerous Game Rifle
DORLEAC & DORLEAC
Rifles
Category : C
Caliber : .416 Rigby
This .416 Rigby was built on a true BREVEX M.400 action produced in the fifties at Suresnes by Mr. POLONSKY, ex RADOM engineer established in France after WW2.
Unlike later systems the first BREVEX actions manufactured between 1955 and 1961 were machined from forged blanks and were known for their extreme resistance.
We have made numerous modifications to the original mechanism, which now bears a proper magnum extractor, a lightened firing pin fitted with a long Mauser cocking piece, a Wolf "Schnellblitz" spring and a single stage trigger set at 3lbs, this device produced on the basis of a modified milled steel ERA system with a newly made trigger specially machined in order to position it at the rear of the trigger guard bow.
The trued and lapped bolt body sports now a low Oberndorf styled handle.
Fully blue printed, the whole action has been optimized for the .416 Rigby 400 gr DGX® Bonded cartridge.
The 25" match grade Lothar Walther barrel carries a three gold lined leaves express sight with wide V slanted standard while the front sight set on an elongated spear shaped ramp combines a gold bead with a moon-sight.
In order to facilitate fast sighting, the bolt carries a perfectly regulated Rigby type diopter.
The 14½" LOP stock, made of nicely figured and perfectly seasoned French walnut, retains our classic style with straight comb, oval cheek piece and abbreviated forend. A steel grip cap ends the elongated handle while the butt pad is a fully rounded 7/8" Silver's.
The recoil blocks, the screws and the grip cap are engraved and charcoal color case hardened.
The serial number is inlaid in gold in relief on the trigger guard and all the markings are engraved by hand.
All parts are slow rust blued with the exception of the color case hardened trimmings and nitre blued ejector box.
This perfectly balanced rifle weighs 9lbs 3oz.
The weapon is absolutely new as she spent his life on the rack.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a "Professional Hunter Dangerous Game Rifle" at a price far below the current cost of building an identical one.
