458 Lott - Big Game Rifle
DORLEAC - France
Rifles
Category : C
Caliber : .458 Lott & .458 WM
A "Big Game Rifle" built on a modified large ring Original FN Mauser action, with magnum drop box magazine for four cartridges of the powerful .458 Lott.
The 26" barrel is a Heym match grade forged from 34CrNiMo6 steel.
The action and floor plate are adorned with light "Royale" engraving and are slow rust bluing finished. The screws, the scope mount and metal fittings are color case hardened.
The stock was made from a dense piece of French walnut in the classic safari style, with ebony forend tip and English soft buttplate.
The rifle is fitted with a ZEISS mod. "Duralyt" 1,2-5x36 scope on modified low old Wisner 30mm mounts.
That rifle was made as a "Working Rifle", by Jean-Philippe DORLEAC, without scarifying neither the velvet functioning, nor the balance or even the look.
At under ½ MOA the accuracy is surprising with the news NORMA loads.
The length of pull is 14½" and the rifle weights 9lbs8oz net, and 10lbs15oz with the scope fitted.
* Indeed any other 30mm tube high quality scope can be mounted in place of the already fitted ZEISS *
