This stalking rifle has been built on a very rare Original Mauser Oberndorf 98' system, an intermediate double square bridge solid wall action.

That kind of action is one of the least common forms of pre WWII Oberndorf production and it combines all the improvements of the 98' system for civilian sporting use.

After having fully blue printed it, we have equipped this mechanism with a lower bolt handle and a rare Original Mauser additional safety with stalking button that permitted to preserve the excellent flag catch while allowing a safe use with the scope mounted.

Notice also the modification made to the bolt stop that can be controlled by simple pressure without any inconvenience due to the scope mount.

In tribute to the marvelous pre-war .240 Apex rifles, the 24½" Lothar Walther barrel is chambered for the superb .240 Weatherby Magnum. It carries a gold-lined three leaves express sight while the interchangeable bead front sight is engaged on a spear shaped ramp with foldaway protector.

To fit the ZEISS "Victory" HT 2,5-10x50 scope we have chosen a H&H type mount, fully machined from bar stock, with the rear base embedded in the rear flat top.

Only the trapped grip cap (with spare caterpillar front sight), screws and furniture are chiseled and engraved while the serial number is relief inlaid in gold on the trigger guard bow and flush on the receiver left side.

All the parts are deep black blued excepting the fittings finished in traditional bone and charcoal color case hardening; the extractor and the ejector spring remaining nitre blued.

The 14½" LOP stock, made of figured, best quality, well seasoned French walnut, is purely classic styled with straight comb, bedded oval cheek piece and, polished black horn capped, abbreviated forend; it ends on a Morocco leather covered lightly curved ½" soft pad.

The rifle weighs 8lbs and 9lbs8oz scoped.

 

Several hundred hours have been necessary to the manufacture of this unique rifle whose functioning and accuracy bear our full guarantee.
