Caliber : 30-06 GVT
The Galas ZG 47 represents for many the best civilian large ring 98' Mauser system ever developed at the ?eskoslovenská Zbrojovka Brno, Národní Podnik.
Although designed in 1947, these rifles were shortly produced in small quantities from 1950 only and total production, all calibers combined, does not exceed 20,000 units. Their marketing ceased in the early sixties.
This sample, in 30-06 US, in perfect original condition, has been proofed in 1956.
The action designed by Otakar Galas is a modernized version of the 98' Mauser, equipped with a remarkable low scope safety on a special shroud and a double square bridge receiver with integral dove tail grooves milled to accept 19mm standard sliding scope mounts[1], the same ones always used on the current ZKK.
The single stage trigger is finely adjustable and the magazine benefit of an opening floorplate locked by an Oberndorf type latch in the front of the trigger guard bow.
The 24" Poldi steel barrel, with perfect bore, is chambered for the universal 30-06 and sports, on bands, a windage adjustable rear sight and a quick interchangeable bead front sight engaged on a knurled ramp.
The 13¾" LOP stock, made of good European walnut, without neither cheekpiece nor grip cap, adopts a true Continental classic shape with a very slight schnabel ending the forearm.
This rifle in perfect condition weighs 7lb 14oz.
It bears our full guarantee.
