DORLEAC & DORLEAC
Rifles
Category : C
Caliber : 250-3000 Savage
Best quality rifle built on a very rare commercial Original Mauser 98' Kurz action made at Oberndorf circa 1930.
Before new heat-treating, the system has been fully trued, the bolt lapped and carefully polished.
The ergonomic of the action has been optimized with the addition of a new lowered Oberndorf style bolt handle and our side-swing safety.
The original five cartridges magazine retains the traditional key locked opening floor plate. The all-steel single stage trigger, built on an ERA blank, benefits from a curved shoe specially manufactured to fit into the elegant oval trigger guard.
The 25" match grade Lothar Walther barrel is chambered for the classic and highly accurate 250-3000 Savage, the only US round ever chambered by Mauser in its kurz sporters.
In order to be able to take advantage of modern loads with 100 to 120 grain bullets, the twist of the .257" barrel is 1/10" while the lapped chamber has been cut to minimum CIP dimensions.
The barrel sports a five gold-lined leaves Mauser type A express rear sight perfectly regulated on the fine bead front sight fitted, under sliding protector, on a spear shaped ramp.
The scope, a vintage Zeiss Diavari C 3-9×36 R Plex in new condition, is fitted to a traditional claw mount, the rear lock being integrated into the receiver square bridge of the receiver while the slender front base is welded to the barrel.
The 14½'' LOP stock, made of high grade, well seasoned, French walnut, is typically D&D classic shaped, combining an elongated grip, a straight comb and an oval beaded cheek piece with a short ebony capped forend.
The checkered wood buttplate is protected by two curved steel fittings, superbly deeply engraved by Florent Viale and finished in bone and charcoal color hardening like the stepped grip cap ornamented the same way.
The German silver shield is engraved with our brand's logo griffin, while the sling swivels take up the style of classic English "eyelets".
A discreet ornamentation of the highest quality and hand-engraved markings soberly decorates this high end rifle. The serial number is embossed in gold on the trigger guard and on the left side of the receiver front ring while the safety shroud is marked SAFE in gold.
All metal parts are DWM slow rust blued with the exception of some bone and charcoal color hardened furniture; the extractor blade and the bolt stop being nitre blue.
That fine rifle weighs 7lb 5oz and 8lb 10oz scoped.
