Very nice MS 420 repeating .22lr sporting rifle manufactured circa 1929 by Waffenfabrik Mauser in Oberndorf.

“Neues Kleines System Klein Kaliber Sportgewehr” transition action with rotating safety and adjustable trigger.

Strong 25" barrel sporting a micrometric rear sight graduated up to 200 meters and a quickly interchangeable front sight on an extended ramp.

14½" LOP beautiful walnut stock, the right side stamped with the Mauser logo, fitted with composition monogrammed buttplate.

The stock has a reinforcement pin on the right side as on the rifle photographed under n°60 page 27 of Jon Speed's reference book "Mauser Smallbores".

On this same illustration we see a scope mount identical to the one fitted to this rifle supporting a superb little S&B 2½ x 18 with n°1 reticle.

The whole in perfect condition, retaining almost all the factory bluing and the majority of the original finishes, weighs 7lb 4oz while the unscoped rifle alone shows 7lb on the scale.
