Mauser Stutzen
BRENNEKE
Rifles
Category : C
Caliber : 8x64S Brenneke
Beautiful Wilhelm Brenneke rifle, made on a commercial FN Mauser action and proofed in June 1961.
Built as a stutzen in spite of its 24" Böhler steel barrel, it is chambered for the powerful 8x64S Brenneke, a cartridge always produced that combines the efficiency of the 8x68S with the smoothness and the ease of the 8x57IS.
The stocking to the muzzle is typically Germanic with a light "hog's back" shaped comb and an elegant black horn schnabel, the same material being used for the grip cap and the plaited butt plate. The stock displays a 14¼" L.O.P.
The rifle is equipped with a NICKEL "Supra" 2,5-6x36 R1 scope fitted on a perfectly executed claw mount with half-rings welded to the scope steel tube.
The receiver and the trimmings are engraved with Germanic ornaments mixing foliage and oak leaves, while the magazine cover plate and the trigger guard are decorated with well-done hunting vignettes, a standing deer and a roe deer head.
With a weight of 7lbs 6oz unscoped and 8lbs 9oz scope fitted, this stutzen is perfectly balanced.
