Pre 64 Mod.70
WINCHESTER
Rifles
Category : C
Caliber : .270 Winch.
A superbly preserved 1951 sample of the legendary "Rifleman Rifle".
That standard model is fitted with a 24" barrel, chambered for the classic .270 Winchester cartridge, and sports a period Weaver KV.60 2¾-5X with crosshair reticle on Redfield Jr. mounts with folding peep sight fitted to the base.
The front sight support is forged with the barrel and bears its original Lyman mod.31 bead under original factory protector while the rear sight dovetail is sealed by a Marble's guard plate.
The American walnut stock, without cheekpiece, displays a 13½” LOP on the blued and checkered steel butt plate, and retains very nearly all its original finish with perfectly preserved checkering while the barrel, action and accessories hold almost all the original factory blue.
The rifle is in an excellent original condition and has not received any modification, except for a finely tuned 2.lbs Timney trigger and a concealed epoxy bedding on duralumin AU4G pillars under the action and first inch of barrel.
The rifle weights 8lb-6oz with the scope base and 9lb-3oz with the scope fitted.
