In 1949, the Hartford COLT factory introduced a fourth version of its Officers model under the name "Officers Model Special".

Offered in .22 Lr and .38 Special calibers, this splendid revolver benefited from a 6" heavy match barrel and new sights including the famous Coltmaster rear sight with elevation and windage adjustment.

The hammer with its large, deeply checkered thumb rest facilitates cocking while the large walnut grips are fully checkered.

The matte finish of the barrel flutes and lower frame of the previous model is retained.

This model was only produced from1949 until 1952 and very few samples were distributed in continental Europe.

This example, in superb condition, remains one of the last ones manufactured in 1952.

This COLT "Officers Model Special" preserves a perfect bore barrel and a particularly smooth action without any play.
