Rifles
Category : C
Caliber : .270 Winchester
Beautiful .270 Winchester break-open single shot rifle made circa 2003 by Johan MICHELITSCH in Ferlach.
The barrel is fitted with special rimless extractor with underside the bore a neat housing for an immediately accessible spare cartridge.
The octagonal and fluted 24¼" barrel is made of Böhler “Razant” steel and toggle on the circular rails of the special side plated action.
The assembly lock is built into barrel that retains its own forearm.
The median bolting system is extremely strong and can withstand the high pressure from modern high velocity flat shooting cartridges.
The mechanism uses a manual cocking system in which the firing pin is cocked by pushing the safety slide forward. This virtually silent movement will not alert game and if no shot is fired, returning the safety slide to its original position puts the rifle in maximum safety. To take advantage of the inherent accuracy of the rifle, the trigger is a traditional double set one breaking at very light pull.
The French grey finished action is lavishly engraved with Germanic scrolls illuminated by beautiful hunting scenes.
Roe deers adorn the left side while the right side plate depicts running chamois. A big ram on the belly and an ibex head on the cover of the stock spare cartridges magazine complement the ornamentation, while the oval steel embedded in the grip cap bears the previous owner gold initials interlacing.
The German scrolls adorn also the scope mount.
Very finely figured French walnut is used for the classic shaped 15" LOP stock with oval beaded cheek piece and soft brown butt pad with perfectly checkered grip and forend.
The barrel is equipped with a ZEISS "Diavari" VM T* 2,5-10×50 R4 scope on ZM Eramatic pivot mounts.
This rifle weighs 8lbs net and 9lbs-9oz scoped.
This kipplauf has hunted in the mountains and has been the subject of careful maintenance followed by a thorough overhaul.
Indeed, performance and accuracy are guaranteed for this high quality in good state of conservation, a rifle perfectly adapted to the mountain hunter chasing stag, roe deer and wild boar, mouflon or chamois.
