Special Long Range Springfield Rifle
DORLEAC & DORLEAC
Rifles
Category : C
Caliber : .270 Winch.
This rifle was built some years ago in the style of the Griffin & Howe “Long Range Rifles” made before WWII.
It is built on a Springfield 1903 action with a .270W Lothar-Walther match barrel and a fine French walnut.
The sporter profile 26" barrel is fitted with a banded scope front base, a G&H pattern front sight and swivel band while the 14½" LOP stock is shaped in a modernized American style of the period, with rounded forend, oval cheekpiece and elongated grip caped with color case hardened steel cap while the soft butt plate is a red Silver's one.
A period styled high quality engraving, highlighted by restrained gold inlays, adorns the color case hardened surfaces of the action while the barrel remains rust blued.
The stock is oil finished to a satin surface and is generously checkered in a 26LPI multi point pattern.
The sighting relies on an old-fashioned Lyman 48 long slide receiver sight regulated on the front bead sight and a stunning Lyman 15x "Super Targetspot", in as new condition and protected in its original wood case, brings out the long range potential of the rifle.
The Springfield 1903 action has benefited of a full blue printing, it's perfectly squared and honed, and it's fitted with single stage trigger tuned to 1lb clean pull.
